Samsung has unveiled its new generative AI model, Gauss2, a successor to the first-generation GenAI model introduced last year. This updated model offers improved efficiency and performance, powering the next level of Galaxy AI capabilities.
Gauss2 is a multi-modal model, meaning it can process various types of input simultaneously, including code, images, and text.
Samsung plans to integrate Gauss2 across a wide range of its products, including smartphones, tablets, laptops, and home appliances. The company has also developed a knowledge graph technology, which, when combined with Gauss2, will deliver personalized features to enhance user experiences.
Samsung’s Gauss2 Enhances Galaxy AI Features with Faster and Higher-Quality Performance. With Gauss2, Galaxy AI features such as Browsing Assist, Call Assist, Chat Assist, Generative AI Edit, Interpreter, Note Assist, and Sketch to Image can now operate more efficiently and at higher quality.
Gauss2 offers three versions: Compact, Balanced, and Supreme, each designed to deliver significantly enhanced performance and efficiency. The model supports between 9 to 14 natural languages and multiple programming languages. According to Samsung, Gauss2’s processing speed has increased by 1.5 to 3 times compared to the previous version, resulting in significantly reduced waiting times for users.
The Compact version is faster and more efficient, enabling it to run fully offline on devices such as smartphones and tablets. This version is ideal for those seeking high performance without relying on an internet connection.
The Balanced version of Gauss2 is designed to offer a consistent experience with a balance between performance, efficiency, and speed. It may require an internet connection for optimal operation.
