Quick Share for Windows Releases New Update with Simplified Visibility Settings

Google is releasing a new update for the Quick Share app on Windows, bringing enhancements such as easier visibility settings and other improvements.

Quick Share for Windows v1.0.2034.4 is now available to users, featuring several changes. The most notable update is the ability to adjust Quick Share visibility settings directly from the Windows system tray. By right-clicking the Quick Share icon, users can quickly switch between the sharing modes: ‘No one,’ ‘Your devices,’ ‘Contacts,’ and ‘Everyone,’ eliminating the need to open the app fully to make these changes.

The update also brings several other improvements, such as new animations within the app, including on the ‘ready to receive’ page, and various bug fixes, particularly when sharing URLs.

Here’s the full changelog from Google:

  • Added an option to adjust visibility settings directly from the tray icon.
  • Incorporated the Quick Share logo into app animations.
  • Fixed an issue where URLs were being classified as text instead of links.
  • Resolved a problem that prevented the Quick Share shortcut from appearing in the ‘All Apps’ section of the Start menu after installation.
  • Fixed a delay that occurred when launching the app after signing into your Windows account.

This marks the first update to the Quick Share app for Windows since it was made available on ARM-powered Windows PCs, including Snapdragon-powered CoPilot+ devices.

While there’s no option to manually trigger an update within the Quick Share app, you can reinstall the app to receive the latest version
