Microsoft has crushed users’ hopes of installing Windows 11 on older systems.

Microsoft has shattered the hopes of users who wanted to experience Windows 11 without purchasing a new computer.

With support for Windows 10 ending in October 2025, users are looking for ways to upgrade to Windows 11 without having to buy a new PC. They had hoped that Microsoft would backtrack on the TPM 2.0 hardware requirement for installing the operating system.

However, Microsoft, in a statement titled “TPM 2.0: An Indispensable Requirement for Security and the Forward-Looking Approach of Windows 11,” affirmed that the requirement for TPM 2.0 support in systems “is non-negotiable,” meaning users will need to buy a new computer to experience Windows 11.

A few days ago, Microsoft issued a warning to all users who had installed Windows 11 on incompatible systems.

Many believe that Microsoft should not stop supporting Windows 10 in the near future, as a significant percentage of users are still using Windows 10.
