Samsung plans to equip its Galaxy S25 series with features designed to significantly enhance user safety. According to leaked information, the Galaxy S25 Ultra will include a crash detection sensor. While this sensor was present in previous models like the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy Z Fold 5, the functionality associated with it had not been activated.
According to a report from AndroidAuthority, the new sensor is a hybrid system that uses data from multiple physical sensors to detect accidents. It appears Samsung has been developing a hidden application called MoccaMobile as part of older One UI versions, such as One UI 5.1.1, to manage this feature.
This app contains codes for enabling and disabling the crash detection sensor, although its user interface is not yet accessible. The feature is expected to be activated through a software update coinciding with the launch of the Galaxy S25 series, offering users a safer and more secure experience.
Galaxy S25’s Crash Detection Feature Could Save Lives
Although Samsung devices in the past have included crash detection sensors, there has been no official report of this feature being activated in any region. Even the device settings currently lack an option for enabling this functionality.
With the launch of the Galaxy S25, Samsung might finally activate the crash detection feature. Given that the sensor is already present in some earlier Samsung models, this capability could potentially become available on those devices through a future software update.
In 2019, Google introduced crash detection with the Pixel 3, and in 2022, Apple followed suit with the iPhone 14.
